SYMPOSIUM
On Perfection, organised by Jo Longhurst in collaboration with the European Centre for Photographic Research, University of Wales, Newport, Whitechapel Gallery & The Photographers’ Gallery, London, 2 & 3 February 2012
Programmed as response to the 2012 London Olympics, and framed from an artist’s perspective, this symposium explores the ways in which artists engage with or disrupt ideas of perfection. The programme includes formal papers, screenings, artist talks, conversation & performance, new works by emerging artists, and presentations from international guests.
A book inspired by the event will be published by Intellect, as part of the Critical Photography Series, supported by Hiscox.
