Longhurst was invited to give a public lecture to accompany the exhibition, Breed: the British and their Dogs. The talk, which described the process of making works for The Refusal and also Longhurst’s personal relationship with her own pet dogs, was hosted by Dr Julie-Marie Strange, with an introduction by Professor Carol Mavor.
